There are times in our lives when we feel stuck or overwhelmed by events, during these times counselling can offer you the opportunity to talk about these difficult issues in a safe, confidential place, with someone who will not judge you or tell you what to do. This then enables you to gain insight and understanding of your experiences and feelings and help make sense of what is happening.

It offers you clarity and enables you to move forward and look at the choices you have, to cope and deal better with life situations. At times you may think these choices are not great, but knowing you have choices offers you some control over your life which will make you feel more positive and enable you to move forward and live a more fulfilling and happy life.



Counselling also enables you to look at specific changes in your life or relationship that you want to achieve. Then within the counselling session we both work together looking at ways of how you can achieve these changes. Often we know 'what' to do but donít know 'how' to do it. It is more focused on specific changes you want to make now and look at some necessary strategies to enable you to achieve the change you want.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies from one session to on average 6 Ė 8 sessions, if someone has long standing deep seated problems then longer time may be appropriate. Each session lasts 55 minutes.

Individuals or couples who are:

  • Feeling anxious, depressed, stressed, confused or have lack of direction in life. Going through difficult life events i.e. bereavement, divorce, sudden ill health, a traumatic incident or a build up of difficult issues that has affected their ability to cope and function.
  • Having anger issues, anxiety, depression, or OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) issues.
  • Wanting to build self esteem, to enable self growth and move forward in life.
  • Wanting to explore career options, or difficulties within the work place.
  • Experiencing relationship issues.
